The1611KingJamesBiblewaswritenmorethanfourhundredyearsagowhentheEnglishlanguagewasdifferent.Theoriginal1611A.D.text,writteninEarlyModernEnglish,showsthelanguageincloserassociationwithitsLatinroots.SpellingwasinJacobeanstylewhichwasnotentirelystandardized,butcouldbereadphonetically.TheoriginaltypefacewasinGothicstyle.Althoughboththetypestyleandtheolderlanguagemaybeconsidereddifficulttoreadbysome21stCenturyEnglishreaders,theKingJamesVersionisrecognizedandrespectedforitsbeauty,cadence,andpoeticfeel.
